This year the hotel is celebrating
its 50th anniversary
In the 50s dairy owner Ludwig Lutz
from the Swabian town Zusmarshausen liked to visit
Munich. By accident he acquired a plot of land in his beloved
town. To fulfil his dream of an eventide in Munich
he gave the plot as a present to his daughter Maria
Chibidziura provided that he obtained an apartment
in the family house. In 1953 construction
works started under the directions of Maria's
husband Werner, a civil engineer.

The hotel in 1954
|
In
Nymphenburg a house containing six flats
arose. Four of them could be rented and
thus ensure the financing. When the house
was finished in 1953 a Munich company selling
hotel equipment recommended to remodel
the house into a hotel/guest-house because
this would guarantee still better chances
to ensure the financing. The missing funishings
and the equipment were provided by the
company and the payment was agreed with
a handshake. |

The risk was taken.
|
| |
At that
time the district of Nymphenburg was a popular
destination for the people living in Munich.
The park, the castle and the botanic garden
invited them for a stroll outside the city.
But there had not been much holiday traffic
yet, who wanted to spend 6 to 8 DM for an
overnight stay? These were some hard years
for the guest-house.

| When the young generation
took a lease on the hotel in 1972 Ludwig
Lutz and his wife could go into retirement.
During the Olympic year Munich experienced
a hotel boom, which showed its effects
afterwards. It depended on the hotel's
comforts and its personal touch if a guest
returned or recommended the hotel.

The slogan "... a home away from home"
was realized by Traudl and Werner. Guests
were not only welcome - they felt like
being at home. |

Some of our regular guests
joined the "Kriemhild Club",
founded by Werner.
He organized trips to far away countries and
events like river rafting and rides with coaches. |

In the 90s the last rooms
were redecorated to meet the standards
of today. From 1998 on son Eric has taken over
responsibility and has been managing the
hotel in Guntherstrasse No.16.
